Go to www.collegeboard.com and go to the college search feature. There you can specify colleges that offer a photography major and within how many miles of your address that you’re willing to travel. Any school with a photography major should have a great beginners class that you could sign up for.

Every photographer knows that digital cameras can take some incredible pictures; unfortunately this doesn\’t always happen with EVERY photo. Fortunately Photoshop Elements has all the tools necessary to make the ordinary photo extraordinary.

The best place to begin is to understand what you are seeing on your screen when you open up Elements and to become familiar with the tools you will be using.

Leveling Your Image by Cropping: No photographer, whether amateur or professional, gets their images perfect the first time around. As a matter of fact, from what I have learned, 95% of the people who use either Photoshop or Photoshop Elements do so in order to correct the images they have taken. After taking your photos you undoubtedly will find that there could have been things done to enhance the photo or things you would want to change if you could redo the shot. Whether it was zooming, cropping or rotating the photo, you undoubtedly might have done it better if you had a second chance.

Typically most digital cameras have a ratio of 4:3 which means; (4 units wide by 3 units high) the standard print size is 6×4, which is a ratio of 3:2 (3 units wide by 2 units high). To alter your image using the aspect ratio dialog box.

If there are items in your photo which distract from your subject you may want to crop your image or photo to eliminate the distraction. Simply open the aspect ratio dialog box by clicking on image then crop. At the top of the dialog box you should see a width and a height box and you can work these in inches or centimeters. To select inches just type in “in” and for centimeters just type in “cm”.

Elements automatically re-samples your image or photo therefore I never enter anything in the resolution box.

I decided to make a little video to show how quick yet simple it is to decently retouch a photo. Of course, I didn’t get into much detail, I only took about 5 minutes at the most on it, then doubled the speed so it would fit with the song. I’m not by any means saying this is an amazingly done retouch-job, because it’s not, but the point was to show that it’s not very hard (plus I wanted to play around with CamStudio). Anywho, enjoy!
